ACE in 2001 performed an inspection, corrosion assessment and evaluation study and report on the 4 bridges on the R72 coastal road for the Province of the Eastern Cape.
Work included the abstraction of concrete cores and taking concrete cover to reinforcement readings using roped access, saving the client costs on mechanical/hydraulic access equipment.
Bridges surveyed were the road bridges over the Bushmans River, Kariega River and Kasouga River.
