This project entailed the construction of a Vestas V90 1,8MW wind tower generator (WTG) with a hub height of 95m and rotor blade radius of 49m. An octagon shaped concrete base of approximately 18m diameter was constructed.

This WTG is the first IPP wind energy source in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa and is the largest WTG on the African continent. This WTG is the first of 25 WTG that will be constructed in the Coega IDZ Development Zones, north of Port Elizabeth, close to the new Ngqura deep water Harbour..
