Comprehensive inspections and corrosion diagnostic testing to the 37 year old Settlers Freeway bridge interchanges for the City of Port Elizabeth revealed widespread corrosion and spalling of reinforcing steel is occurring.
A medium to long term maintenance and rehabilitation programme was developed for implementation.
